Floor Tiles

I brought some floor tiles from Focus the other day and was wondering if they were ok to be put in the fish tank??

yeah they should be fine imo, as long as they have a glazed finish.

They will be for Decoration if they are ok for the tank.

OK - they should be OK provided ther are ceramic and glazed. Trouble is you don't know what effect any paints contained will have on the water and thus the fish. Even if they are glaze fronted the ceramic material making up the tile will be porous, and so by definition I'd imagine the paints or dyes decorating the tile will be in contact with water.

Interesting one though - anyone else have a view? Anyone tried it?

Look further down the page and you'll see McEve has set up a tank with a tiled base and background. That the kind of thing you're talking about?

I decided against the floor tiles and went an got some slate instead today,
I will hopefully be putting some pics up tomorow of my creation
