wow been a long time since i ventured into the planted area!
wow guys ok i have some grassy plant that unfortunately isnt doing well after me dosing the tank with meth blue!
but the question is i want to place one or two broad leaf plants and a plant that covers the sickly bright pink stones i havent managed to replace?

any suggestions and other easily kept plants would be great

Carpet plants in low light tanks are tricky as they tend to grow quite tall rather than flat.

Lol,
tall is fine....
:) taking it i can prune these down ok?

yep, most plants can be pruned, but don't prune crypts, aponogetons or swords.
The Ambulia & Hygrophilla can be weighted down along the gravel and they send up new shoots from each leaf node. In a short time you can have a hedge of the stuff.

It is but I found it quiet difficult to work with, but this could be that my E T came from greenline and may not be E T at all.

Lillinopsis brasilia and hairgrasses can be used in lower light for carpets, so can HC but not too low.

To help your choice post up your tank specs.

Welcome back! You also frequent bettas. See my signature for a break down of easy aquarium plants. I include foreground plants in the list. All the plants can be grown with as little as 1WPG.

I agree Sam, but the following have worked well for me in the past. Marsilea hirsuta, Lobelia cardinalis, Cryptocoryne parva, E. tennelus, sometimes HM (depending on your tank), moss.

While you cannot prune the above they way you would prune a stemplant or moss, by simply halving the stem, it is advisable to remove old leaves by snipping away the leaf close to the base of the rosette in these plants. You can also occasionally thin out the plant by clipping old leaves. Sometimes this is necessary to stimulate new growth, or to control unruly growth. I do this with my crypts, aponogetons, and swords. It is pruning, in a sense.
