Floating Wood

How long does it take to sink?

I thought id have a nice easy job of changing my current bog wood with an epic piece of wood... but as I put it in the water it decided to float -.-

ATM is wedged under my lid but was just wondering how long it will be before I can lift it up >.>

Keep it weighed down with a rock or silicone a large piece of slate to the bottom of it then cover the slate with substrate. Make sure the silicone is OK for aquarium use.

the Wood in question is about 1/3 of my aquarium...

I was hoping after a few days of getting wet it would weigh it self down?

It depends. There's no way to give an exact time. I'd just weigh it down. I have a large bit in my tank and have it weighed down with rock for over a month. It still floats if I take weight off it.
