I have a load of Amazon Frogbit and Water Lettuce floating in my tank - together they cover about half of the surface. I'm just wondering if they are going to hinder my ability to grow other plants properly by blocking out too much light. At the moment I only have Anubias and Java Ferns tied to bogwood, but now that I've upgraded my lights (to 1.54wpg of t5) I'm hoping to add a load of Vallis, Amazon Swords, Crypts and whatever else takes my fancy (but isn't too demanding). I dose APF Plant Nutrition and EasyCarbo. I could always just get rid of the floating plants but my fish seem to love them.

Just cut the floating ones down a little and make sure they move round the tank with the flow and the others your planning should be fine.

They've basically just been pushed to one side of the tank by the spray bar. Do I need to adjust the spray bar somehow to keep them circulating, then?

Do the amazon frogbot and water lettuce have long roots ?

The Water Lettuce certainly do!

If you cut any out and want rid ill certainly be happy to take them off your hands

Well if you want to grow other plants then I'd get them moving round the tank.

I have no idea how I would achieve such a thing unless I got another powerhead, or something. Maybe I'll just shift them. Thanks for the help, mate!

Could take off the spray bar and use a single outlet.
