is it ok to leave java moss or riccia as a floating plant ?
i want some floaters for fry to hide in
i've seen Salvinia natans , Aeschynomene fluitans and Amazon Frogbit on ebay for sale
are these any good?

sorry for asking lots of questions :blush: just never had any live bearers before or a planted a tank with more a couple of plants in

yep I agree that frogbits great for both fry and the prevention of algae,
I also have tonnes of the stuff if you need any
 
oh im jealous pippoodle, ur getting all the frogbit!! :drool: i could put some in my fry tank!!!
 
Yeah go with frogbit.

Java moss can be the ultimate horror (in terms of looks) if you leave it floating.

I like duckweed and waterlettuce :D, And dont worry about asking questions. Its what the forums are for, learning :D
 
Hi. I'm interested in the frogbit. Is any one has spare, can you PM me with a cost for posting etc?

I'm in the very early stages of starting up a new planted tank - first attempt! :)
 
hey mate, can you not see there is a que to this stuff, pippoodle is first in line, me second and you are third mate, you cant steal a post if someone else is wanting it
