Looking to get some floating plants, and want to know what is your personal recommendation for a species with lovely, long roots.

I have listed my details below. Want something that grows long, quick would be good too.

Kind of like this:

Details of tank, lighting:

- Tank is 400L.
- my fish won't eat plants, so no worry.
- 1 T5 Tube.
- No CO2 or ferts.
- Temp 27°C.

Thanks!

frogbit is a gorgeous plant, i love the trailing roots, the fish love it too...with the right lighting it will spread quickly and you'll be able to sell on the babies and get your money back in no time xx

Thanks guys, will go with the Amazon Frogbit.

out of curiosity, one bulb over 400L doesn't seem much, what is the wattage?

I have a Hagen GLO T5HO Linear Lighting System 39W.

My fish don't really like light, so the light is really only for me to see them. It's more than bright enough for that, but obviously not good for any plants really (Anubias has always been great in my setup though).

Actually wanted the floating plants to create more of a natural shade for the fish, but also just because I really like the look of the trailing roots and what not. :good:
