Hey all, just a quick question.
My Denison barbs seem to still flash occasionally, and I'm not sure why. My parameters are 0/0/5-10 (I have a tough time telling for sure on the colors). I see no signs of any health concerns, all eating well. Also, can't really tell if it is just one of them, or if they all do it...they are all pretty much clones besides minor size difference. I know that Denison's require high water quality, but I thought 5-10 nitrates was pretty good.
The only thing that I've changed recently, is that I am now using remineralized RODI water in my aquariums instead of my well water. I have matched the GH/KH/pH as close as possible, it is nearly the same. However, I know that the actual mineral content of the water is probably still pretty different from my actual water despite what the numbers say. Therefore, instead of my weekly 50% change, I am doing 2-3 small changes (~20%) for the next couple weeks to try for a smooth transition to the RO water.
If you need any other info let me know.
