Flare Photos?

Would love to get a flare photo of Sutra the Beautiful Blue Betta, but he seems unwilling to cooperate. He used to flare at my finger when I wiggled it against the glass, but now he just backs away from it.

Any experienced betta photographers out there who have some good tricks up their sleeves for getting some good flare photos?

Prop a mirror against the side of the tank. He'll think it is another betta and go crazy!

Yup, a mirror will do it. Or if he is next to another male or female

Not all will flare at mirrors though, my new little betta here in my office refuses to flare at a mirror. I think he is a little pansy boy.

Put up a mirror...and pretend you aren't watching...then when he's not expecting it, snap the photo.

One of my boys is _exactly_ the same. No matter what I do, he'll aways be a fraidy-cat...or would it be fraidy-fish?

My betta doesn't flare at a mirror or women! I put him and one of my four girls in a floating quaratine tank (don't worry, it was seperated) and she went mad but he just sat there!

my new betta wont flare at anything. He is a right wimp....I have moved him out of his big tank, into my clean out tank and he is a little happier. I really believe they had only been in the lfs a couple of hours, I got him yesterday - Wednesday - When I rang up on Tuesday they said they usually come in lunch time. So I went in the shop about 4 pm no wonder they all looked shell shocked. Cant get a piccie at all.

This is the betta I shouldnt have bought as I didnt have any space..it is just that he was flaring at me and wiggling at me...he is living in a water filter jug at the moment and he is so happy...I think he is a crown tail..?
If that shop was just a bit nearer I would go and see if the turquoise one had livened up
