Somebody who has over 100 posts is probably not on here for the purpose of trolling. So whether they got bored with fish forums and decided to switch to trolling or is just genuinely clueless, I don't know.
The fact remains that we are flaming them. I partly agree with Jaiden, having been flamed at least three times by board members over misunderstandings myself. However - the flamings were well intended, and one of them was deserved. When I posted information correcting it, the flaming stopped and was replaced by helpful advice.
The only helpful advice I can give here is that the obvious fin damage on the bettas makes it obvious that either they ARE fighting when you're not looking, or some other fish in the community are nipping their fins. Bettas can cope with community conditions but when their fins are being damaged like this they are probably quite stressed. They would be happier kept alone in small tanks. If you don't want to move them, flaming you obviously won't force you to but I personally think you're being rather naiive keeping two male bettas together and expecting them to get along. They are called fighting fish for a reason. People have flamed you because most of them are experienced betta keepers who have seen what happens when two males get together accidentally. They know it usually ends in disaster, a painful death for one fish and serious, often fatal injuries for the other. They don't want this to happen to you or your bettas. Neither do I, but if you won't take our advice, and the advice of everybody else on the internet who has a betta website or forum, we probably can't help you.
I think a mod should lock this before it degenerates further into an out-and-out flame war. There are already two clear sides and it won't take too much more ammo.
