With 2006 coming up in just a few days, many of us are thinking about our plans for the future year. Some of us are making a list of New Year's Resolutions.

Have you included adding to or upgrading your tanks, adding new species, breeding new fish, or any other fish related things.

This is a thread to share you future plans with the rest of us. :D

I hope all of you have a safe and happy holiday too!

I generally don't make any resolutions as I never stuck to them when I did. I do have a couple though. One is to get the kitchen floor fixed and the flooring replaced. That's fish related because my 75 gallon tank will have to be moved to do that. I'm still getting my thoughts together about how to do that.

The other is to do a full set of experiments on fishless cycling. I plan to buy 2 10 gallon tanks, a couple cheap heaters and one more filter (I have one spare Whisper 10 filter). I want to try different methods, temperatures, lights on versus lights off, larger filter (over filtered)versus smaller (minimal) filter, etc. Actually, I'd be open for any suggestions that people may have. I plan to pick up the tanks, filter and heaters today since I have to go get a new glass top for my 29 gallon anyway.

Other than that, I just hope to maybe find a place for another tank and hope to get my 75 gallon stock back up (after I finish the floor and move).

Apart from the std "I will give up smoking" resolution
I plan on upgrading my 8.9G tank and getting a decent hood for my
42G tank

Not really a resolution but in 2006 i will be throwing a lot of time and money into getting my fish house fitted out and running which will mean a lot of tank upgrades once its done. I'm also determined to find a suitable male stingray to partner my female.

The-Wolf, as bad as the Packers have been this year, you should also resolve to give up on them. Only kidding. I'm a Panthers fan and they suck too even though they have won 10 games. They probably still aren't going to make the playoffs.

lets see........upgrade most of my tanks includeing new tanks for bettas with brand new decore, get rid of the ich on my saltwaterfish and get them healthy enough to return them to thier main tank, get a digi cam. i thinks thats all.

Adhere more toward breeding annual killifish ie: Nothobranchius species.

I guess mine would be to organize my fish and my tanks to get the minimum amount of tanks, and the maximum amount of fish. Getting rid of all the smaller tanks will save costs which could be put towards fewer larger tanks.

Also, I have bought 4 tanks, that are 30x18x18. A starnge size but still pretty decent. I plan on building a stand (welding) a stand that would hold 2 of them on the bottom, and 2 on the top. And then, start into breeding some fish...

Move into our new house so I can set up my 4 empty tanks that I've spent a fortune on and have been drooling over for months!!! :hyper:

I am planning to get a 10 gal and a 120 gallon tank this year :D

I'm planning on getting a 10 gallon (actualy in two days), a 125 gallon and about a 2000 gallon Koi pond!

making more of an effort to find a female German blue ram! i cant find one...anywhere!

um maybe considering installing some sort of CO2 system...not sure how im going to go about doing that... i know nothing about it.

maybe getting another betta. i did have one, but got tired of it and gave it to my sister lol.

and making more of an effort to get my knowledge, particularly about aquarium harware, up to scratch as i want to get a job at my lfs end of 2006/start of 2007.

that's all i can think of.

Well, first, my wife and I plan on buying a house at the end of the year, which will give me the flexibility to maybe get one or two very large tanks (6'+).

As far as the tanks I have now, I want to finish the cichlid tank (need more rocks, maybe a few more fish), successfuly raise Bolivian Ram babies, keep the seahorses alive all year, and see how big I can get my evil 10 cent "feeder shrimp" that at one point took over my brackish tank and was bullying the gobies and the puffer!

Sometime in late January/early February I'll be buying a 55g to move all my Cories (16-18), Black Neons (5), and Clown Loaches (3) to and then using the old 30g Cory tank to keep 6-8 Lamprologus meleagris/stappersi and figure out who to house with my RTBS in the other 30g. And then decide whether I'm going to use my spare 10g for shrimp, snails, quarantine or all three. I have an established 10g with Kuhlis now so that makes a total of 135 gallons of total water to maintain.

After the 55 is established and I have the stapps set up, I'm thinking of getting a small plec group, maybe Bristlenoses or Clowns (or my [true] Butterflies if I can nab them) for the 55g and whatever I decide to go with the RTBS. I've heard Rainbows can go with them but haven't researched that yet.

Hi All :D

It looks like some of you have some MAJOR work planned!
