Yes, Matt is right. When the members see a new tanks setup thread asking for fishless cycling help, here's what will help them get started with a diagnosis (this is sort of comphrensive and ideal, just to give you an idea/template):
Tank volume (in liters and US gallons ideally - there is a calculator at top of web page):
Intended or current cycling method: (fishless/fish-in)
Date cycling started:
Number of days so far:
Brand and model of water test kit:
Tap water pH:
Tap water ammonia:
Tap water nitrite(NO2):
Tap water nitrate(NO3):
Daily results...
Tank water temperature (F/C):
Tank water pH:
Tank water ammonia:
Tank water nitrite(NO2):
Tank water nitrate(NO3): (only needed occasionally)
Tank water KH: (needed if tank pH quickly drops way below tap pH)
In your case we need tank size, test kit type, tap water statistics and perhaps we should ask you about your ammonia, whether you are confident about its purity (no foaming, fragrances etc.) and also important to know your pH situation over time.
