Fishless Cyclin Information Wanted

I have the following things and want to do a fishless cycle using only them.
6 UK Gallon Tank.
Filtration system.
Lighting system.
Heating system.
Playsand.
Some silk plants.
Probably a cave.

At the minute I have a 2G tank running with silk plants in it and a betta.
I could use the silk plants out of it...
Could someone provide me a detailed guide that would suit me. Telling me what to run, water changes, time before putting fish in (only about 3 fish first), and should I also get a test kit? It's going to be a community tank and I want it to be as healthy as I can get it...

a 6 gallon tank will be rubbish as a community tank, thats tiny.

It's not going to be a big flash one, it's just for my bedroom. I'm not puttin too many things in it... I just want something nice in my bedroom!
