:) I think there was a topic like this before but we can always start anotherone, who knows if we have really nice tips maybe this can be stickied ;)

My tip is that the bigger the tank, less problems, not problem in water quality, problems in compatibility. Zebra danios were known as fin nippers but i have 8 of them in my 55 gallon cause my tank is rather "big" and they only keep it to themselves, for a 20 gallon tank you can't fit anything else other than the 8 zebra danios imo and less disease, better life for fish, longer living, etc :)

My advice is that only "Pygmy" cories should be kept in 10 gallon tanks. Some people will not agree but after what i have seen today...i saw a school of sterbai cories that were *drumroll* 8CM!! they were so huge!

Any tips/advices, fellow members? :D

Followup. Larger tanks offer more stability because water the more water, the slower the temp changes, the less the water changes affect the fish, more room for the fish, and big tanks look very impressive if set up right.

Tips:
Vary foods
Options: flakes, dired foods, frozen foods, live foods, vegetables, and other foods that humans eat (research before feeding)
Do regular maintencance.
Water changes at least once a month of 25% (in big tanks)
Don't overstock if it can be helped.

To many more things to list. haven't checked out the newbie no no's section, there might be some of this stuff (if not all of it) in there already.

Live plants are a godsend. Even easy care plants.

Don't buy a fish that is going to outgrow the bigest tank you have at that time. Alot of people think they will get a bigger tank later and most don't.

Shop around for stuff for the fish tank. Lots of things can be bought in other stores besides pet shops.

You can aquascape a nice big tank for next to nothing with stuff you find in your own yard. Just be sure to research stuff befor you put it in.

Don't buy fish from poor upkept fish stores. Why get sick fish. Just cause you pay less don't mean much if they die and kill your fish along with it.

But the biggest tip I can think of is.. All tanks are different just cause it worked or didn't work for Joe Bob don't mean that much.
