Hey there, I am a new tropical aquriamist to the breeding of platys (had tropical fish for about 3 years) and not long after my first batch of babys were born two of my fish slowly started to get extremely skinny. They have hollow bellies and have lost the "platy" shape. When i had my other wish the same thing used to happen and throughout my hours of browsing the net i have not found a fish disese with these symptoms. I have done water changes but i think that one of them is not far off dying. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Lone Wolf and :hi: to TFF,

Are the effected fish still eating? A 'pinched' belly can be a sign of simple underfeeding (i know its not often you hear that in fishkeeping, but it is possible). Otherwise, the fish may not be eating due to some other illness?

BTT :good:

I'd repeat your post down in the tropical fish emergencies forum. There's a member there named Wilder who is quite good with fish diseases I think...

Lol thank you for the welcome :good: Yes they are still eating, i think they are actually eating more than any of the others which is a bit backwards. Ok i will post it in the other forum and see what happens :) Thanks for all your help :hyper:
