Fish Trapped

ah right sorry i had visions of him being stuck flat against the glass!

Oh gawd no, I wouldn't leave him like that  he managed to swim 80cm round the gaps so he all he has to do is realise there's a gap to get out then I can seal it up

could u not slice the background along its top edge and peel it away from the glass enough to get a net behind there, net him out and put him in a bucket along with the pleco and drain the tank and silicone the background back on firmly

I have been trying to slice it off but it's 50cm deep and there is silicone at the bottom and I don't have anything long enough, although having said that if he's not out by morning, I will have to do something like that

The pleco's already bagged and out

Ok got him out. I went back in to see where he was and he was still up the wrong end, so I prize a small gap at the top of the background and with the end of my algae scraper (not the scraper end!) I quickly got the handle underneath his body and flicked him over the top of the background, he wasn't very happy about it but I think he soon realised it was for the best. He's now in 4 pints of water temporarily overnight so I can sort out that gap tomorrow. Sadly I nicked one of his rays and it's come off, so I've dropped a little melafix into his bucket. He is a bit dazed but not so dazed he couldn't give chase to a shrimp on his way out the tank

What a palava!

Glad you finally got him out mermaidmel.
How is he now. Is he over the shock.

Does he look pale.
Are his fins clamped to his body.

great hun , yes it is expensive but it's great stuff - i had to promise grandad it wouldn't kill off his koi carp and it didnt thank god lol - so it's definately safe lol - he's got over £5000 worth of kois in his pond all grown from babies - largest over 16 " bloody heavy things to move around when he had to sell one JEEZ

good luck with the betta hun fingers crossed all goes ok

No he is absolutely fine, back in the tank now and much happier, he seems to like being with the community in the big tank, he really hated being confined to a smaller space. It's all sealed up and everything's hunky dory.

Glad he's ok the little raskell
