Fish That Love Currents

A lot of fish like to swim in currents, but usually they also like having some escape so they can rest. If you are researching it one thing that can help is to realize that lake origin fish tend to still water, whereas stream and river origin fish are build to handle it being faster. Some writeups that go into the fish origins will mention the original type of habitat for a given species. Sorry, but I don't know this aspect of species well enough to just produce a good list right off but maybe other members will happen along with ideas.

Well my Zebra Danio and Cherry Barbs absolutely love playing in the current, the faster the better for them, the cherries to a slightly lesser extent then the zebras but both love it. My Harlequin Rasboras also like playing in the current, but not as much as the others. Finally, as odd as it may seem, my Pear Gouramis and my Betta can also be seen playing in the current on occassion, and they are not suppose to like current at all. But if you are looking for a really playful fun to watch fish that loves currents you can't go wrong with the Zebra Danio, and if you are in the US (other thatn California) you can get Glo Fish, they are Zebra Danio but due to some fancy genetic work they are coloured bright green, yellow and red.

as I recall someone here mentioned that corydoras will ride a current when kept in a shoal of 6 or more. I plan to have 6 albinos in my tank when all cycling is over x For example, see these in my lfs that constant current ride from the flow of the filter. arn't they cute?
