Hi,

I have conducted a fishless cycle for approx 6-7 weeks, I have now finally put fish in and unfortunately, one of the fish got stuck, and I only just got it today, I have no idea how many hours it has been there, but now it is swimming on its side, I have put the fish in a bag in the water with some food hoping that it is only tiered and hungry, it is moving its fins and gills but not actually swimming, and it is at the bottom of the bag. It doesn't seem to be eating. This is the first time I have owned fish and was hoping to get your advice, is this fish a goner or can it be saved, or is my theory correct, it is just tiered and hungry?

This is a tropical fish by the way,

Please help and advise,

Thank you for your time,

Dani

Is it swimming sideways or is it on its side? if its on its side it is dying. if its swimming around on its side it is either dying or it has a swim bladder problem. can i see a pic of it?

Hi,

Thank you for your reply, unfortunantly while I was asleep, the fish I was talking about has died, and it looks like it has taken another along with it I have 2 fish left, 1x is an algae eater and the other sort of looks like an angle fish (maybe it is). I am just hoping it is just a case of 'new tank syndrome' and not somthing wrong with the water.
