Fish Suggestion Please

Hello everyone,

I am looking for a fish which will occupy the upper area of my tank.

The fish/fishes Must get along with the 4 rams,
Must be 7" (or under) as i have currently used up 37" going by the inch per gallon rule (the plec is about 4 inchs and is being rehomed this week)
Im open to any suggestion

Just looked up the hatchet, do they need to be in a minimun group?

Edit: Just looked up the African butterfly fish, that looks like a nice fish! Will the Serpae Tetras be a problem? they are under 2" and they like to nip fins?

I've heard the African Butterfly Fish described as baby arrowana as they're so predatory.

Hatchet Fish are great surface fish, as long as you have a tight fitting lid.

Yeah sorry you'd have trouble with the tetras.

My platies are fine.

He's not too predetory. Infact he's so chilled out that I'd even consider putting my baby platy in with him.

Maybe some gouramis, danios, tetras (not really an upper fish)...

If you didn't have the serpae tetras, I'd say try a killiefish.

Maybe some livebearers like Guppies (you probably dont wnt them, but I cant think of any other)

The serpaes would probably be a little too tempted by the guppy tails...

Yeh, whats wrong with hatchetfish? I have a couple of them and they always stay near the surface of my tank. Do you not have a lid Scot? I hear they like to fly
