its pretty sad that innocent fish were killed at the end tho

oh my god, just had to re-read to see that they killed them... why not just send them back ?? quarantine i suppose !

damn Australia and their import laws :(

i bet they were some pretty rare ones

It's too bad the fish had to be put down.

Silly woman, what was she thinking?

she was thinking how stupid the Aus laws are and that she could make 1000s with the fish she bought in :p

Its a real embarasement to be an aussie in this thread..... :X
What an idiot...

Disclaimer: In no way shap or form does that womans mental capacity represent other australians.

what i think really sucks is that they probably put down her fish at home too. i'd go ballistic if officials killed my babies, just because some jack### thought they might be "rare, illegal imports". screw that. see? i'm getting worked up just thinking about it.

i'm so american. i'd sue their butts off if they touched a single legal fish in my home aquarium.

no, no. it was quite clever except for the plecos (they like to randomly thrash around too much)

Why the heck did they kill them for? That was not nessecary at all. They owluld only cause a problem IF THEY WERE RELEASED. I'm sure they could have found some permanent homes for them, especially with a story like that behind them.

'cause they were illegal. government can't go around selling illegal fish.

I didn't mean selling them, but I'm sure a reasonable home could be found for them, even in a zoo. They might have been smuggled in, but it was hardly their fault.

*shrug* warning shot across the port bow? plus, you never want to introduce fish that you don't know where they came from.

This kinda stuff happens all the time in the united states but they handel it differently, they seive the animals and then relocate them to zoos and such. Thats how i got my chinchilla and the electric catfish i didnt want that i got rid of. If something like that happened in the states(goverment killing any living thing) Peta or the ALF would be all over them in a harte beet
