Fish Stores In West Yorks.

Anyone know of any good/great fish stores in the W.Yorks area. Just got some time on my hands so was thinking about going see what is out there.

Would you venture into North Yorks?

Arcade at Bishop Monkton is quite good, also Maidenhead at Poppleton, York, and our lfs - Harrogate Aquatics on Forest Moor Road is well worth a visit. They're refurbishing atm but have some nice fish in.

I can't remember what it's called but there's one at Ferrybridge who specializes in Corydora. Has some nice fish but labels and identification is not easy! You need to know what you're looking for - not a good one to browse and wonder if something will go or not.

Is there anything in particular you're looking for?

Paws For Thought on the York Rd in Leeds is excellent for freshwater in particular

QSS on wakefield road, bradford is great for all fish including tropical and koi.

Its the only place i've bought fish before and every one had survived more than 4 weeks!

well its too late to go today, (ended up doing dissertation) but on the morrow i will give QSS a try, rainbow seems a bit far tbh, but maybe if i feel like a roadtrip,

not really looking for anything inparticulour but i have a 60L tank ready cycled. just want to go see if there is anything that catches my eye and persuades me to stock.

Yeah QSS is as good as it gets IMO
Been around for eons now.
Used to be owned by a elderly gentleman called Alec.
Dont let Andy Shepherd talk you into digging a pond.
Those Koi are amazing go take a look.

QSS is awesome. Infact it might be best i have seen.

not a dead fish in the place, (except the ones being fed to the gars).
best selection of discus and angels at brilliant prices. i spent like an hour just looking. loads of interesting species i have not seen anywhere else. a bit dry on the cichlids and no africans at all, but that can be forgiven as they have so many community tropicals. i believe they import from eastern europe alot so that why they get such good deals. i would recommend to anyone.

bought me a green terror (they only had one) i had been looking for one for a while, they sold me a 5 inch, for £8 which i thought was not bad.


i have to go into wakefield today, anyone know what the place in osset is like? is there anyplace really good in that area?

Are you planning on upgrading your tank anytime as it seems too small for a green terror!

I searched for green terror on google as I was unsure what it was and by the look of it they grow upto 8" in size but require a 55 gallon tank which is in the region of 200 litres.

no its not in the 60 ltr, it is in the 4ft, i was hesitant to add it to the big tank as i was worried it would claim the whole thing for itself, but as per usual everyone exagerates the agression of fish, or maybe i always get dosile ones, the GT is lovely, reminds me of a puppy rather than a revenous wolf, prefering to play with the other fish than fight. my big krib has been keeping it in check (my big krib is alot smaller......he just doesnt realise it) i am very pleased with the purchase. went to wakefield today so dropped into a place called aquatica.....to be honest i wish i hadn't. although it was more of a pet store to be fair more spiders than fish.

Interfish at Oscett is fantastic for marines, their trops are disappointing though IMO.

I have no garden.......but after that trip i wish i did. if you are a big koi fan try the quality koi store in brighouse......they have a few rediculous fish there. up to £18,000.

QSS is a brilliant shop, I don't buy fish from anywhere else. Can't recommend them enough.
