Fish/shrimp To Get?

Are you sure i couldnt get an Atyopsis gabonensis (armoured fan shrimp), because thats the thing i want most, something new and interesting to watch. Ive read up on them they seem very peaceful. Is'nt their the slightest chance i could have one in my 15g?
Then it would be fullystocked...

Will really get too big for your tank IMHO, can grow to 15cm+, they also need a tank thats been mature for at least 6months as they rely heavily on their being enough micro organisms and stuff in the water for them to feed off (you can technically feed them liquid and fine dusty livebearer fry foods, but this is not advised in the long term).

So their is no possible i can have with of these creatures? Also my tank has been mature for around half a year now.

As i said they really grow to big for you tank, i wouldn't really advise one to anyone who has a tank under 30gals, but other people's opinions may differ on this though. The main issue with putting them in tanks too small for them is starvation.

They grow 15cm, your aquarium is only 24cm, I think you should listen Tokis-Phoenix, there is no possible way you could keep this fish in a happy condition.
IMHO,

My tank is 24 inch/60 cm (i think) ....if it was 24cm trust me i wouldnt have as many fish and wouldnt even consider putting a cameroon fan shrimp in my aquarium.

Agh, sorry for some reason I got confused, I think the fish was 15" and the tank was 24" my mistake, i'm not to good with converting cm's into inches.
15cm isn't that much so i'm not sure, but it would overstock your tank thats for sure.

Neal

PS- Sorry for that confusion...

Thank you, i thought that was a mistake.About the overstocking thing, ill just have to get a bigger better filter.

If you upgrade to a tank 30gals or more i would consider getting one after its been set up for a monthh or so with your current filter running in it alongside the new one- i used to have some armoured shrimp myself, they are very peaceful and interesting critters but they tend to hide amoungst piles of rocks and this can make them difficult to spot, they are not really much of a display or centre peice tank inhabitant because of this.
They really need a small cave or secure rock pile of some sort where they can wedge themselves between it or hide in it, they then find a good place in their choosen hiding spot where there is a lot of current/water movement so they can grab passing floating particles and things to feed off- because of this its best to put the cave/rock pile or whatever you find for your shrimp near where the filter current is strong and steady so it ensures the shrimp gets enough food  .

Thanks for the advice/info, i appreciate it. :)
The upgrading thing, thats really a problem. I would have to upgrade my filter as well as the heater, more gravel, more decor, new hood(with lights) and the tank...of course. So it would be like i never had a tank. Because i would have to buy all new.(also if i were to get one of these shrimp in the current tank, what kind of filteration would i be looking at?)

it's not your filteration thats the problem it the size of the tank for that srimp.
