My fish tank has a fake log that was moved to the middle left of tank last week. That area happens to be right under where most of my fish like to hang out. Ever since then, I noticed it has been accumulating a lot of poop on it. Is it ok if I let the poop accumulate on the log until my next cleaning (which will be in 3 days), or should I take it out and clean it off? I will relocate the log again in my next cleaning. I just worry about the poop hanging out in the open like that vs being buried in the rocks, like maybe the fish might try to eat it thinking it's food?

It's nothing to worry about, as long as you're not overfeeding. Even if the fish did eat it, it wouldn't do them any harm.

Ok, thanks :) I'm still new to having an aquarium, so I wasn't sure if it was an issue or not.

If you watch them fish do eat there poo but spit it back out nothing to worry about if it isn't on the wood its on the gravel.

Lol my fish eat and then spit out food all the time!! It's no problem at all unless you don't have a filter.

Welcome to our forum pinkash.
If you find the waste distasteful, go ahead and use your gravel vac to remove it. It will do no harm right where it is but some people simply cannot tolerate a "messy" tank. If you are one of those people, removing the waste will not do any harm at all. I am a bit more relaxed about the appearance of my tanks so I tolerate almost anything that will not harm my fish, but I am well aware that I am in the minority in that respect.
