I would like your help please. On the underside of my bog wood I found 2 slimy round blobs of slime. Inside it looked like there were grains of sand. I removed them as I have a small snail problem and didn't want to take a risk on them being snail eggs.

I have cories, flame danios, golden tetras
and dwarf blue rainbow fish that could have been the egg layers.

The slimy stuff were slightly smaller than my little finger nail. Sorry I don't have any pics but on a camera it woukd just look like grains of sand.

Thanks for your help.

Does sound most likely to have been snail eggs.

Little grimy sacks are usually snail eggs. Get a clown loach in there. They love the little snails

They have no place in a 180L and should not purchased without understanding their care

Don't worry I wasn't going to just throw fish in there. Especially not clown loach lol. Beautiful fish though :)

So my 4 clown loach haven't enjoyed and thrived for the past year in my 200l. They are going into my new 6 foot tank. But they have been absolutely fine in my 200. And would probably stay happy in there for quite some time

Clown are social fish and should be kept in groups of 6+. 6ft tank should be fine for them but certainly not in a 200 litre tank when they are fully grown.

Also suggesting to throw in a fish to combat a problem isn't good advice. Also advice that wasn't even asked for. I was only checking on what sort of eggs they were. There are plenty of ways to combat snail problems but they are not a huge problem when I keep picking them out as soon as I see one.
