Alrighty, so we're gonna be getting a larger tank once our tax return comes.
Not sure how big but I know at least 75... preferably 120 (if we can find one in good condition).

I'd like to keep the tank peaceful, but would like at least 1 fish that will eat small fry as well (we have a platy population that is out of control).
I know I want danios, and if we get a 120gal tank, I'd like clown loaches as well. But other than that... no idea.
So any suggestions would be fantastic! Our fish places don't get too many exotic types in so nothing that's too hard to get please.. and No livebearers.. think we've had our fill of those lol.

a good size shoal of Rainbows would look good,
or a hoplo catfish or two
or a pair of apisto dwarf cichlids

Boesmani Rainbow Fish, maybe an Blue Acara which is a fairly peaceful big cichlid. Nice shoal of corries is always good :D.

The upside down catfish.

Get some opaline gouramis aswell.

just about anything will eat fish fry...even shrimp

Pfftt, we have lazy fish then b/c they sure haven't been eating any of them. We have at least 3 dozen fry all unharmed...

Anywho, thanks for the suggestions so far, more pls! :) heh

Oh and I would love some rainbow fish, but I've never seen them sold here. Might ask the lfs if they can get some.

How about a good pleco? Are there any that don't get as large as commons but don't stay as small as the BNs? Just a med sized one
We have a TON of algae in our tanks now and would just like something that might snack on it in a new tank heh.
So any suggestions on any kind of good algae eater would be great :)

What about an Angelfish???

From wht I hear, angelfish would be good at taking are of tiny fish/fry... but I think the tank we're looking to get won't be tall enough for them.. well at least when they're fully grown? Not sure on that though.

golden nugget plecos get to 20 cm maximum
green phantoms also get this large

the op dosent want bns .....made it perfectly clear
It wasn't stated that the OP definitely didn't want BN's, only something a little bigger than one.
If you read the post, you'll find she wants one that eats algae, to which I suggested an algae eating Pleco.
