while reading some posts i noticed that a lot of people name fish and also put numbers with it. IE L190,L340.
what do these numbers mean and where do you get them from as i would like to know more about this way of identifying various fish cheers brian.

Basically the numbers are scientists and explorers discovering fish faster than they can name them! The L number library are all types of plecs there are a few hundred, then you get the C numbers for cories and then you get LDA numbers for some more plecs

Thats the L number library and shows all the differnt sizes, shapes and colours of plecs :)

awsome link didnt realise there was that man:O i dont want my bn anymore lol

haha yeah it had the same effect on me. But it just goes to show why it is so inappropriate for "common" plecs to be labeled as common there are tons of others that are much much smaller that would be much better in captivity in most tanks.
