A few questions to help narrow down the problem.
First of all tank details - size/inhabitants/water parameters etc.?
Are any other fish showing signs of the same problem?
How long has it been going on?
Have a close look at the fish, especially the gills. Is there any obvious abnormality?
e.g. colour, damage, parasites etc.
Differential Diagnoses
1 Poor water quality - prob. unlikely as clownfish are pretty hardy and other fish are likely to be showing signs first.
2 Parasites - may be unlikely if no other fish affected. Any recent additions to the tank?
3 Bacterial Infection
4 Mechanical damage
5 Stress - overcrowding etc.
6 Systemic disease
7 Toxins - contamination of the water with chemicals etc. again unlikely if no other fish affected.

well like i was explaining, its the only thing acting wierd i mean the fast breathing is bad. its like 5 or 6 breaths a second for at leat one week this has been going on. ive quarentine it fir 3 days w melafix (like someone suggested) , given it a FW dip. then put it back in the main tank. no difference except now i havent seen it rub on anything but breathing worries me. plus its getting sluggish from time 2 time. oh and also its loosing appetite. seems to only want to eat live brine shrimp. nothing else no flake, pellet, frozen, or plankton.
so since the sudden loss of appetite i have now placed it back in the quarentine tank. now treating w/ coppersafe, melafix , and quick cure medications. in there 2 days now still hevy breathing. i dought this is normal. but i guess i could be wrong. i have gone to my LFS to observe the breathing patters of other false perc clowns and for the most part they are breathing much slower. with a few exception that i guess could be sick. or not.
as far as the close observation i see nothing . last week it had a pink bumb on the side that is not there any more. color looks good no viseble sighns of parasites, gills appear fine not swollen.
IM TOTALLY STUMPED! IF ANYONE HAS ANY IMPUT I'D LOVE TO HEAR IT.
