Hi all,
Noticed something a bit strange with my fish yesterday. I typically feed them in the morning but yesterday I noticed all of them on top of the water in one corner of the tank looking like they were feeding furiously. It lasted just a few minutes and then it was over. No food had been added to the tank when this took place. Any idea what might have caused this behavior

Oh, I failed to mention this was early afternoon, well after their morning feed.

What sort of fish?

Did you do a water change or add anything new to the tank yesterday or just before this happened?

Good morning Colin,
No, I vacuum the substrate on Fridays and do my partial water changes on Saturdays. Nothing added to the tank either. It was either Tuesday or Wednesday that this occurred and lasted about 3 minutes and then the fish dispersed and acted “normal” again. I have a mix of assorted Mollies, Black skirted Tetras and a few small Angel Fish. All of them were displaying this behavior near the top in one corner. I’ve only noticed it that one time.

Someone probably had eggs or babies and everyone decided to eat them.
