Hi guys,

I'm just about to get a Juwel Rio 240 (53 gallons), and was wondering if you could advise me on my order of fish, and if it'll work. I'm cycling with Seachem Stability (heard lots of good results and reports from people), so the first group of fish (school of tetras) will be added on day 2, the pleco on day 7 if all levels are ok, and then the rest a minimum of two weeks apart, again a fish or small group at a time.

1 x school 12 neon tetras
1 x peckolita pleco (L134)
3 x clown loach
3 x swordtails (MFF) - M=HiFin Tuxedo Lyretail Sword, F's undecided
2 x german blue ram cichlids (MF)

Thanks guys,

Mark

Never heard of Seachem Stability, so no advice from me on your cycling.

However, I would not have 3 clown loachs, they get up to 12" each. Look into getting 5 dwarf chain loaches, or 5 angelicus loaches instead.

I may rethink the clowns, although I really do like them.

I've just slightly revised the list (Neon Tetras going in first, followed by Pleco).

What does anyone else think to the order of fish?

I would advise a fishless cycle as none of them are hardy fish.
Plus clown loaches need a 100gal tank as they grow bigger.

Some batches of neon tetras can be very sensitive; I would not add them until after a few months. I would also be slow about adding the rams. The rest could go in after a fishless cycle, but I''m afraid I don't know anything about this Seachem product. I would do the ordinary ammonia fishless.

u cud add a couple of danios in 2 help the cycle..but no fish is invincible to the cycle :/ even if danios are hardy some do die or get damaged in the cycle and die earlier than they shud...gd luk n e way!
