I am thinking about subscribing to 'tropical fish', a UK based magazine aimed at people who keep tropical fish and I was just wandering if anyone else subscribes to any fishkeeping mags?

I have thought about subscribing to 'Practial Fishkeeping' but weekly, they tend to just focus on one species - and most of the time I would have no use for the information they were providing!

I buy Practical Fish Keeping magazine from time to time, its a very good mag with awesome pics, it pretty much covers everything to do with fish keeping and has loads of ideas like tank designs and stuff but its mainly tropical freshwater fish orientated

Yeah, PFK has too much marine and too many pages of ads IMO, but when they get something relevant its usually worth reading. Read the online articles

I subscribe to PKF and find it an enjoyable read. It does have quite some marine, but I find that interesting too - even though I don't have a marine tank - because one day I might

I don't subscribe but I buy every issue. I bought the last one twice , not on purpose. I find it a good read.

I go to books-a-million every month (or atleast try to) and pic up tropical fish hobbyist and sometimes PFk if it looks like a good issue.

It costs £3.25 to buy each issue. Subscribe at www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk or ring 0870 124 1010. Doesn't say how much it is. Unless you get a discount it may not be worth it, I never have a problem getting one from a certain large newsagents. P.S. You can also apply for giveaways if you are a subscriber, but there is no guarantee you would get the free gift.

When I subscribed I got a filter and a couple of very good books free. So definitely worth it if you buy over the counter every month anyway.

From what i've read Practical Fish Keeping magazine is really good in my opinion.

Tropical Fish Hobbyist isn't so good.
