Hi,

I have ordered my new 12 gallon tank and it should be here in a couple of days. I currently have a 5 gallon tank in the middle of a Fish-in Cycle with one zebra danios, current status is:

day 18
Ammonia 0.25,
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 0
Ph is 7.0 (holding steady)

I have had an ammonia spike (upto 1ppm) and a very small nitrite spike (0.25 and down to 0 - 24 hours later and have remained 0 ever since). So essentially I know I am no where near completing this cycle espically since my Nitrates have remained steady at 0.

I am planning to do an Add and Wait method of fishless cycling with the new tank, and my guess is it will be cycled before the current tank is fully cycled. I had always planned to move my single danios and add an additional 3 danios to the 12 gallon following the fishless cycle.

So here is my question, after I move my danio to the 12 gallon tank following the fishless cycle, if the current 5 gallon tank is still not fully cycled, can I start a fishless cycle in the 5 gallon (planning to add a Betta onced cycled), or should I leave the danio in the 5 gallon and complete the fish-in cycle?

FYI the danio currently in my 5 gallon fish in cycle appears to be doing fine, no strange behaivour, no red gills, eating as much as I will give him, and although I am sure he is bored with no friends :) he appears to be doing great.

Note using an API liquid test kit (double checked all reagents are within date)

That is what I thought I just wanted to be sure Thanks
