i have a 20 gal tank with 3 cories 4 neons and 1 molly what is the max # of gouramis i could get

That depends on which species you were considering.

You should realy get a couple more neons as well.

Oh, I was so just going to say it depends on the species.
There's quite a few combinations you could keep in there.
Since I know some of my gouramis can be really moody and my gold is usally very territorial, so it really depends. Its not like in LB where they can tell you the # because they all can go together.

If you go with Sparklers, they only get about 1 1/2" or so, so you could get maybe a group of 1m, 2fm. Or a few dwarf gouramis, any color, but try to do the same, 1m, 2fm if you can. You can get more smaller ones, or fewer larger ones. Kind of depends what look you want. Also, I'd get a few more neons, too.
