I'm not familiar with those one-banded fish? They were about 7-8 inches long and looks like some kind of pacu, serrasalmus sp. or a giant silver dollar lol

Not sure what fish exactly you're talking about, but I think you mean the one with the red on the bottom and the one thick black line?
If so I think that's Myleus Schomburgkii
 
That's the one. Ooh disk tetras or black-band myleus but yeah just read and they are related to pacus and piranhas. Also read that they can bite hard @_@
 
Omnomnom :D Am unfortunately not so smart that I knew that off the top of my head. I knew I had seen it somewhere else and had to go searching to find it again.
 
Anything related to those fish are going to be tough to keep. They are no fun when cleaning the tank. Scares the crap out of you every time you put your hand in there. Not that you would be attacked, but the possibility....
 
This was the first time i saw them on our store and was not for sale that's why i was curious haha
