hi, i'm a newb.
I got my fish tank about 6 weeks ago, , it's tropical, i have
5 white cloud mountain minnow
3 neon tetras
a mix of 6 black and red phantoms (3 of each)
2 silver sharks
an albino catfish
and a glowlight (i think it's a tetra)

All fish where fine, water test are good, i bought the phantoms from the same shop as the others, and 3 of them have developed white spot.
I did a full water change and turned the heater up a little. i think i might have overly stressed the fish, i have bought aqarium salt but am not sure what to do with it.
Earlier i checked the tank, every fish was pale, the neons had barely any colour at all and the minnows where stuck up at the top of the tank next to the filter not moving, now i'm not sure if i have done the right thing but i have lowered the heater back to normal (which resulted in the minnows i thought where dead starting to shoot around the tank, and the neons gaining alot of colour back. All the fish in the tank looked better for it. Now i'm not sure what to do at all, do i do away with those phantoms that came with whitespot? or do i treat them to get rid of it? I know the other fish will probably come out with it aswell so i'm leaning toward treating them, but i don't want to lose every fish in the tank.

What age are all these fish? One does realise they will eat the neons as they get older? Neons do lose colour when not fed properly and also at night or when sick.

I also wonder if your tank is big enough? It will need to be once the fish mature.

they where all small when i bought them, and have since grown quite a bit. This paleness was after a water change which leads me to think i have overly stressed them out  This morning, all are regaining their colours, especially the neons, i was really surprisd as i thought i would get up to all members of the tank floating at the top, even the sharks scales are mirror like again.
I really think i have panicked to much over the white spot and have purchased the medication for them today. The tank is a juwel and i think it is a 120 litre tank, not sure though. Looks like a am going to have to get a smaller secondary tank for fishy emergencies such as this.
