I would be worried about all the platy fry you will end up with. These can be dfficult to deal with. Will require lots of extra work on your part as well as space and you will have to regularly cull them. This faq is very informative:

I would be tempted to go for just 5 neons in total of one species. 2 extra cories and then think about having 5 males platies. This is a slightly overstocked option and potentially a little nippy but will avoid you having all the fry. Personally I hate livebearers and would not choose to keep them as I feel there are far nicer looking fish out that don't spray out 100s of babies a month.

:good:

I think ill go for all female platys then, to minimise fry =]

hey JonesUK that is a nce aquarium you have, what type of fish are those and do they do well with platy's and tetras? :)

for the first few months you will still have fry, they can store male sperm temporarily.

Yep Musho, noticed that on the speices index.

Female sperm storage, talk about weird!

There were:

6 Harlequin rasboras
4 Pygmaeus cories
3 Amano shrimp.

However...

That picture is a bit of a lie in all honesty as I have stripped tank back to just gravel and all the fish have been relocated to my tank at the school I work at. Waiting til I have some more money and inspiration to have a go at something else. Had the tank like it was for about 12 months which is about as long as I can stay interested in a set up for. My attention span is very short + I love setting up new tanks.

:good:
