hi there i have a problem i have 2 baby angels and one adult angel and my son decided he wanted to feed the fish while i wasnt watchin ummmm dumped half the container of foood into the tank (i just bought the food 2 days ago was full) what do i do? ................ also i posted earlier about adding a crab i made a mistake it was a baby blue lobster its beautiful would like to have one would a lobster b ok in the tank with angels. :D thnx for helpin me out u guys r great :)

if it where me i would vaccum as much as could out without disturbing to much of the gravel. if you don't have a gravel vaccum, try using your net to get the floaty pieces out, learned that one about 12 years ago when my son decided that the fish where hungry and fed them his peanut butter sandwich. what a mess. don't let all that food stay in the tank though, it will spoil and could change the water chemistry in your tank.

hope this helped a little. good luck with the fish.

i don't know anything about lobster, but it sure does sound beautiful.

Hi lovableangel

Yep you definitely need to scoop out as much as you can and then vaccum up the rest asap. Don't vac all of the gravel in the tank as this may get rid of all your beneficial bacteria, if the food hasn't dispersed too much then you can just concentrate the cleaning on that bit.

Also, if you haven't already got some, nip out and get some testers for your water conditions - ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. You can then do regular water changes to see if anything bad happens. As zull says, once that food rots it will cause a massive ammonia spike in your tank which could kill your fishies  , especially if your tank is quite new. How long has it been set up for?

HTH
