If you're just trying to aim where sinking pellets land, a long thin piece of PVC pipe will work fine, you can find them at hardware stores pretty cheap.

Use a turkey baster? I have one that is just for fish food, works perfect for frozen food etc.

I use one to squirt bloodworms right onto the substrate for my cories - doubles up as a fry catcher aswell
