So I ususally fast my betta fish about 2 days out of the week, every week. I was wondering if fasting my other fish (koi, goldies, corys, platys, tiger barb) would be alright as well? I know that platies poop A LOT, however i noticed that one of my platies had a really thick poop (sorry if that is tmi) i felt sorry for the poor girl. anyway i plan on doing a fasting day tomorrow. will this be alright?

Yep. You should fast fish one day a week anyway. I dont feed my fish unless I have school, except on long breaks of course!

Please explain this daily fasting more. Why?
Most aquarium fish are massively overfed, compared to what they would find in the wild (many wild fish do not eat every day), so a fast day goes some way to preventing the issues that arise from that. It also does most animals (including humans!) good to have a fast day, as it allows the digestive system time to rest and clear out anything that's left in the digestive tract.
