Hi again Moonplaty,

Also it is good to know how long the tank has been running, so if you could add that, it would be great.

One tip i can give you; The testing kit is a very important tool, when it comes to fish keeping, there are 2 kinds: strips and liquid. If you have the funds, you should invest in the liquid kind, it is more acurate. It will last you quite a while and is worth the expence.

Somebody will come a long shortly I'm sure, so we can help you sort this out.

the tank has been running since 11th of august withought any problem had two goldfish i gave them away

ok, so your tank is cycling, very stressfull environment for fish, also as you mentioned earlier, you filter had shot off, and could have killed the small amount of beneficial bacteria allready established. So your fish could be going through another round of high ammonia and nitrites.

Can you rehome the fish in a friends established tank and do a fishless cycle, loads of info on how to do that on this forum (in very basic terms: Getting the benefitial bacteria established without having fish in the tank)

Sorry, just saw you had 2 goldfish initially, were they in the tank prior to your new fish, meaning was this an established tank before you got the new fishes or was this set up brand new on 11 august, sorry about that, just making sure we are getting all the facts straight.

If this is infact a cycling tank, you will have to do a lot more partial water changes with dechlorinated water, daily if possible and get the testing kit ASAP.

yes it was established now what worries me is the way the fish died be hard for me to test the water as im broke and wont be able to go to per store till next saturday

Ok, so the tank was established. The only guide line I can give you now, is to start doing daily partial water changes with dechlorinated water, working out from the theory that your beneficial bacteria died when your filter shot off. It certainley won't hurt. It is very hard to advice anything else at the moment without water stats. It might not be the problem, but at the given time it can not be excluded.
