2 days ago I found my Siamese fighting fish showing signs of clamped fin. He was 'paralysed' within a few hours - showing signs of breathing but wasn't swimming. I ran out of testing strips on that day so I had my water checked by my local fish specialist - I can't remember the readings but they were fine according to my local store. I had accidentally missed a water change, so I did a 50% water change. A neon tetra was found to be floating around the middle of the tank - breathing but not swimming. One by one, a few more neon tetras were found in the same state.
I've just done a 10% water change to keep the nitrates down as they were a little high earlier. I'm using treated tap water etc. I can't understand what's happening to the fish??
EDIT: I can't see any signs of disease or bullying, gasping of air, etc. Although I did spot a white poo that one of the platy fish had produced - could be a sign because of the colour?
- 95 litre tank - fully cycled
- 2 platys
- 2 honey gouramis
- 5 cherry barbs
- 4 neon tetras
