I got some goldfish, Who died and then in the past 2 days 4 of my Betta fish died! I clean the tank every 3 days and I don't have filters for it.

and some minnows died

all i can say is to get filters and cycle all your tanks, thats probably whats killing them.

Goldfish in bowls is a fairytale  Goldfish can not actually survive without cycled filtered water. They will simply die. Especially if they are those 50 cent ones. And bettas need bottled water. That could be it. Unless you have a very good water conditioner.

my first fish wwas a 12 cent gold fish. i never cycled the water and had no filter. just changed the water every week..... and it lived for over a year.

so your fish might be dieing from the heat or the cold

Bottled water!?!? That lack minerals that bettas need. I have a pur brand filter that has expired that I filled with carbon and zeolite, to filter my water. It is effective. It also softens my water up a bit.

How big is this tank?

If you don't treat your tap water that the fish survived a year is testament ot how tough some fish can be, you can't simply throw tap water in every now and then or even every three days and think thats OK, at the very least it must be treated by

1) Standing open to the air at least 24 hours before use, preferably with some agitation
2) Treatment with a product such as AquaSafe.

The chlorine is toxic to fish - any fish but in some areas they use Chloramine (Scotland and Thames areas I believe) and that is worse still and can only be sorted with something like Aquasafe.

Do this and tap water will be fine, providing you stick to the frequent changes and treat the water a filter may not be needed, they are preferred but not essential.

A lot depends on your tank and how big it is versus how many fish you have in it.
