I give my fish normal flake food, pellets for the little guys at the bottom, and a few frozen bloodworms every couple of days as a treat.
Only thing is, all the fish, except one of the whiteclouds, all dive right down to the bottom as soon as the pellets go in, and the only ones interested in the flakes are the loaches (who the pellets are meant for)
Obviously the pellets are made thicker and heavier than the flakes, but is there any difference nutritionally; are the guppies losing out on anything by just going after the flakes?
Is this normal behaviour,or are my fish just odd?

ha ha try as you might they'll eat what they wanna eat.

it's like our cats, you put exactly the same food into each bowl yet still they'll scrap to try and eat each others.

why not try adding some other sinking food like tetra prima, the gups will like it and it may mean there's some sinking pellets left for the loaches.

if you're worried about the nutrition then check the packets, it should give a breakdown of how much protein etc they each give.
