Fish Compatibility

Add this to my list of stupid questions.

I was wondering, because lots of people say "you can't put this fish with that fish" etc. etc.

If you were to get two fish as juveniles. Would there be less aggression - and possibly next to no aggression when you put them in and when they eventually get larger.

If they required the same PH, hardness, temperature etc. etc.

Really it depends on the species, but generally speaking probably not. They'll become even greater competition for each other, for space, territory, food, etc. I'm sure there will be exceptions though.

Did you have certain kinds in mind?

I found for some species sometimes it can 'delay' the aggression between them, i guess?
but it'll still eventually get there in the end.

I have found generally they are ok, I have cichlids from all over the world living together (severums, malawis, jaguars, nicaraguans, angel fish & even a silver shark) and they all get on fine
* I'm not saying it deffinatley will work cuz I don't know but mine are ok
