4 x Angels Fish
4 x Dwarf Gouramis
7 x Male Guppies
6 x Mollies
6 x Zebra Danios
14 x Neon Tetras
3 x Albino Catfish
2 x Algae Loah

This would be in a well planted 350 litre.

Would they be ok together?

Would this be over stocked? I run a 1500 litre per hour pump on a jumbo juwel filter.

I do 25% water change and vac every week.

I was worried about that but lots of people do keep them together don't they?

I intend to buy baby angels - would this help if they are raised with the tetras? Also it's quite a large tank - would that help?

I think buying baby angels works.....I think.

Neons and Angels will be ok for a time.
I would remove the Algae Loach (Chinese algae Eaters) and go for either ottos or bristlenose plecs, the CAE's will get too aggresive for the tankmates
the albino cories would do much better in a group of 6 or so.
Be careful where you get the dwarf Gouramis from.

Add Angels last, at night, with the lights off. If you add little tetras or other tiny fish after the Angels they may think they are food and eat them! If you rearrange the tank a little too that seems to help. Baby angels will probably work better too. You may want to check the optimal pH ranges for these fish. Not positive but don't mollies like a higher pH around 7.6-8.6 and angels more in the 6-7 range.

Most tank bred fish will usually easily adapt to most ph levels provided they are acclimatised slowly and the ph isn't an extreme.

Gouramis are prone to diseases, gourami disease in particular. the little bristlenose plecos are better they don't get so big and are peaceful and quite hardy and a little armoured so not bothered.

Sounds ok, although as said befrore i think ottos or a bristlenose plec would be better than algae loach. Also be careful when selecting your dwarf gouramis as the a very prone to disease make sure they are not in a tank at the lfs with unhealthy or lathargic looking fish.

My mum has angels in her tank with neons and there hasnt been any problems, aswell as mollys and guppies and they are all fine, but the mollys are sooo greedy

Now I know that some people say don't go near Pets at Home - However, My local shop has some dwarf gourami's and they look excellent - colour condition etc....

What does everybody think? I don't have the facility to quarantine at present....

Will def get a group of 6 albino cats and I'll think again about the algae loach.

Does everyone think the stocking level is OK providing through maintenance??

bump - come on guy's what about the post above - really need help with this one.

Thanks to all

Well really its down to your discretion, if they are the best ones you have seen than maybe thats what you should go with. Although now that you know they are there you could go back in a week or so and make sure they still look as healthy and then select the ones you want.

When i got my dwarfs i got them from Maidenhead Aquatics They had been there a about 3 weeks and when i went back they still looked great so i bought some. And at the moment they are looking fine.

Quarintine isnt that necessary (obviously better but i didnt) for dwarfs unless you already have some dwarfs which are the most succeptable

So when you go back if you decide to get them from there then remember select the one you want, if its too easy to catch ask for another you want the healthiest specimen possible

And finally good luck they are nice lookin fish and mine are funny to watch ill leave with a couple of pictures of my male (funny little fella)

Hope this helps

I don't know if you really want to know what should be put together or not.
Just because some people get lucky and get away with putting certain fish together doesn't mean that it will always work. Please keep an eye on those angels in with the smaller fish. I hope not, but there could be a problem.
The main thing that I wanted to mention is that mollies really should be kept in brackish water. They really should have some marine salt in their water to keep them healthier and have them live longer.
Keeping all male guppies... They will harrass the other fish trying to mate. They will try to mate with anything! Also if we are talking facy guppies with big tails usually don't go well with nippy fish. They tend to get picked on. You might want to keep an eye out for that too.
You have been told about the CAE. All I will say is... very bad with those fish.
The rest you have been told about also. (I think.)

Hope this helps some. I just wanted to give you a little more info. I hope it all works out for you. :good:

About the angels with smaller tetras, I have two year old angels with neons and they do fine together, on the other hand my buddy had a year old angel that ate every last one of his, so I guess you just get lucky sometimes. My angels grew up with neons and get fed plenty so maybe that helps.

About the dwarf gouramis, I would most certainly quarantine. They are beautiful fascinating fish but they are very disease prone and it is no fun when it spreads to other fish. I have bought two on different occassions and ended up being very disappointed with their health, one never made it out of quarantine.
