"I had three cory pandas thought I'd add a number to their shoal and it didn't seem to ever become part of the goup, it still remains apart. My suggestion is they go well in threes, sixes, nines etc "

That's more likely to be because it was added later. I am not sure corys can caount that well. I've got 5, all added together, and they get on fine.

One of my cories hardly ever shoals with the other ones, but he was like the third one I bought, so that's why I bought another one to make it four, now sometimes they pair up, or swim together in a group, but 8 out of 10 times I look in the tank that one is still off by himself.

I would start by adding 3 more bronze cory catfish as they are shoaling fish, 4 more rummynoses as the minnimum group size for these is 6 and then maybe some platies - a couple of males (so they don't breed) would be best but you might preffer a trio (1 male, 2 females). Cherry barbs aren't schooling fish and do fine in pairs so don't add any more. You will still need to keep up with water changes and gravel vacuums.
