Hello!
Me and my roommate would like to try our hands at breeding some fish, so I need some help to know exactly what I need to get this started. We would like to breed some cichlids (like convict or firemouth, are there better fish to breed?). It is my inclination that a 30 gallon tank would be desirable for this sort of breeding.
Beyond that I am confused as to what we would need for this to work.
-a heater
-a filter (I've read sponge filters are good for breeding tanks, but is this only once the fry has been hatched?)
-a light?
