Please can anyone help. I have a 120 litre tank which has been set up for a year. All was well until the past week. On Monday I came home from work and my beta's fins and tail had been ripped to shreds. Then today I came in from work and a dwarf gourami's tail was missing and fins in shreds. 4 of my male guppies have also disappeared over the past few days. Please can anyone tell m who the culprit is likely to be before I lose all my fish. The fish in the tank are as follows:-

4 dwarf gouramies
3 chocolate mollies
1 white sailfin mollie
20 neon tetras
6 mountain minnows
3 glass catfish
1 albino plec
1 chinese algae eater
4 harliquins
4 female and 4 male guppies
1 dwarf aquatic frog.

HOLY OVERSTOCKED, *Coughs*.

Okay so where to start, That's a lot of fish o.o...

Am trying to work out what it could be as well.

Well, Dwarf Gouramis, Bettas and Guppies are always a bad idea to keep together, they are all well known for nipping each others fins ...

That and agreed, you are over stocked and if fish are going missing completely, it is probably your Chinese algae eater, a really bad species to have in 99% of peoples tanks. They get big and nasty and with a habit of attacking and killing fish.

Lots of people have told me that guppies and bettas don't go well together, but i have never had any problem with mine at all. My guess would be that it is your Chinese aglae eater, they can be nasty and territorial. Hope that helps!
