Bought a pair of paradise fish (was told it was a m/f pair by the breeder). Recently the one is starting to grow fin extensions so I'm thinking I got dooped and bought 2 males. Well the larger one has been charging at the "girl" and she has wounds (and I mean BIG wounds). I ended up putting "her" into the 2.5 gallon I have for my feeder fish. My major concern is that she's not gonna make it. Anything I can do to help her heal?? I feel just awful knowing that i putting 2 fighting fish in the same tank unintentionally or not...I feel like a bad pet parent. So can someone PLEASE help!! And don't yell at me for putting them together. I did 2 months of research to find the right fish and I thought I made the right decision, I got lied to by the breeder...

Half dose some melafix.
Also post about your fish in the right part of the forum. Will get better advice over there.

Strange, Don't blame yourself, you were just unlucky. paradise fish aren't normally as agressive as betta. I have 2 males and 2 females in same tank and they never fight

maybe also try stress coat or non-iodized salt. (or both) sorry to hear about the wounds. everybody has ithappen in their tank at some point.
