When I do a WC & gravel vac in my 29 gallon tank, all the fish go to the opposite end from where I'm vacuuming as if they are terrified of it. The fish in my 75 gallon are totally opposite. The angels and tetras swim right up to the vacuum tube and even try to grab the particles as the go up the tube like their after food. No stress in this tank during WCs. They think is play time. Anyone else have fish that enjoy water changes?

Well, my fish hate it. Most of my fish ignore it, but in my 30 gal with the breeding convicts..... . The male attacks the vaccum, and magnet algae scraper. Im afraid to stick my hand in there because of him!

When I had goldfish in the 55 gallon they also thought it was "play time". I had to literally push them out of the way sometimes to get at something to vacuum it up. I could take a piece of gravel in my hand and throw it in the tank (of course it didn't get far, though) and one of the fish would play "catch"....thinking it was a piece of food.

Ever throw something and the dog goes after but then looks around in the general direction like, "where did it go"? That's what she did.

When I had tiger barbs in with my mbunas, the mbunas would pretty much just completely ignore everything....but the tiger barbs would bite the living crap out of my arm and hand. :sly:

I sure do! :D My harliquins go mad for the tube! Ive sucked one up before, so be carful though! he made it through ok though, and i think he is still alive! :D

My rasboras attack it too. They go absolutely nuts!! In my big tank the cories and the mollies go after it a little and sometimes the pristella tetras will. The cherry barbs are pretty shy anyway and the rest just ignore it.

I've actually sucked up a three inch long gourami into the vacuum section of mine!!!

No harm done though. The nosey little bugger is going strong and still tries his luck every time I stick the vacuum in  .

Same here, my Honey Gouramis actually seem to be trying to get inside the vacuum and if they're not doing that, they and the rams are trying to eat the tube or my hand.

all of my fish go nuts over the gravel vac...only fish i've ever vaccumed up was a 3" long scissortail rasbora...he was fine!

when i vac near my BGK's spot he comes out and attacks it. bit scary when he does it really, 1inch hose has quite a suction!!

My rummynose tetras try too eat the particles that get sucked up when I vacuum. The brochis (cory relative) are afraid of it though.
