Fish All Sick Suddenly!

the water change and another top up doseof medicine hasperked the fish up a bit overnight, andI didn't lose anymore. However I am worried that this is going to keep happening if I don't do something about it.

Any suggestions?

Do you have carbon in your filter?

Ohhh I'm not sure - i will check when I get home. If it does is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Guy at the LFS said this morning that it sounds like something called shimmying. I've never heard of this so if anyone has any info I'd be very grateful!!!!

He gave me a different medication which should hopefully help!

I had some problems not unlike the ones you are talking about a while back. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong! What temp is your tank? Sometimes raising the temp in the tank helps ward off those nasty bugs that make them sick. Also, I went out and got a bio-wheel filtration system for my 45 gallon tank that was made for a bigger tank along with an under gravel filter. It cost me about $75.00 for the bio-wheel but it was worth the cost. The fish have been healthy since. (wish I could say the same for my other tank but that's a whole other post I'm afraid ) I love my fishies too and know how you feel! I wish you and the fishies luck! Lisa
