First Successful Spawn....[Sort Of]

well i just let sookie out this morning to peek his interest again, no flaring, chasing, nipping, biting or anything!

then they went under the nest and this happened!

BUT

then something went weird =[ he wouldnt go and get the eggs at all, he just wanted to wrap whereas she would go down every time and get them and put them in the nest!
whilst she was doing that he would eat the eggs =[ so i removed him...then she refused to collect them and started munching...so i removed her....

now there are a few eggs in the nest and more on the floor!

what do I do?

Newbie question here, but are you sure he was eating them? He puts them in his mouth to bring them up to his bubble nest I thought.

Your pictures are beautiful, congratulations. Is it the males first spawn? And has the female spawned before?

It sounds as though he is a bit inexperienced, my first spawn, things went kinda the same way, the male was just not sure what to do & he started to munch the eggs.

You might be lucky & have a few fry survive, but if not, you will have to try him again in the future & hope that he will improve. If possible, put him with a female who has had a few successful pairings, it might help.
